Jude started preschool today! The preschool director met with the parents this morning and made a point to mention that she loves it when kids dress themselves and come to school looking a little crazy. I think she and Jude are going to be great friends. At breakfast I pointed out that Jude's shirt was backwards from the way most people would wear it and he told me that he didn't want his school friends to see the buttons.
The thing on his head is not, technically speaking, a hat. It was a craft project from school that involved two pieces of paper stapled together. So why not put it on your head?

Jude sounds like my Enoch. He is always putting shirts on backwards and shoes on the wrong feet and when I point it out he says, "but I like it that way." Enoch makes life interesting to say the least!
One of my boys wore a particular green shirt and pair pants to preschool for the entire year, just like a uniform. It posed a laundry challenge. It was also a little embarrassing, as if he had no other choices in his closet. He's also the one who at four thought dressing up for Halloween was completely ridiculous, no thank you.
It is good to hear that all three are off to a good start. Your preschool director sounds like a kindred spirit.
We just celebrated our 17th first day of school, not counting preschool or college, and I'm feeling mom-guilt because we FORGOT TO TAKE A PHOTO! Does it still count if I take it during the first week of school?
@Laurie - I meant to take my camera with me when I dropped the boys off at school but forgot both days. Both these photos are post-school "hey, wait, we need a picture!" photos. They'll probably get used to that with me. :)
@Maggie - I think it's a sign of creative, independent thinking. We are creative, independent women, happy our children take after us. Right? Most days? Kind of?
