After breakfast this morning, Jude was reading the newspaper (sports section) and recreating the announcements he's heard Ben make many mornings this summer about Cubs victories. With great excitement he told me, "Mama, football winned last night! They got a homerun!" That football is a great team.
This evening, someone stopped by our house with a survey related to the upcoming election. Ben answered the door, and the boys asked me what he was doing. I explained that someone had come to ask questions, probably because we are going to vote for a new president soon.
Jude: Me, and Sammy-el, and Owen, and Daddy, and Mama can vote, and then we can open it!
Me: I said a president, Jude, not a present.
Samuel: A president is a man, and a present is a TREAT!
