My Kids Rock
When Samuel was a baby, I started visiting Leona, an elderly woman from our church. My visiting habits have been sporadic because toddlers are alarming around people using walkers. Leona is delightful, and I miss her when I don't get to see her for a while. So, last week I tried a new tactic: while Samuel was at school, Jude, Owen and I went to see her. Jude sat in a stroller eating (which he can do for a looooong time) and Owen sat with Leona. They were perfect! Owen wiggled and smiled, Jude chatted and giggled and carried on. Leona commented several times that Jude has a lot of "pep."
I was so proud of my little boys. Parenting can be a pretty self-centered business, and it's good to have moments when it feels like Jesus is using my little guys to care for someone else.
