This morning I put on the first Christmas music CD of the season at our house. I chose "In Harmony with Your Community: The Sights and Sounds of the CPR Holiday Train." I love it. It reminded me of our trip last year to see the Canadian Pacific Railway's Holiday Train near Milwaukee. It was fantastic! I'd never heard of such a thing, but in a sample issue of Trains magazine (requested on Samuel's behalf) I came across an article about this unusual Christmas celebration. The train travels across central and eastern portions of southern Canada and the northern U.S., stopping for hour-long performances. The music is excellent, the train's light display is impressive, and the whole project benefits local food banks along the route. We probably won't get to see it this year since it passes through our region the same weekend of Ben's installation at Immanuel, but I highly recommend it.
